The Integrated Step Course has been written into the local government contract for Middlesborough, England, with Recovery Connections successfully bidding for the contract.

Training for staff in how to deliver the programme took part on the 26 September 2016 with the delivery team receiving 35 hours CPD accredited training. This will then be put into practice in early October with WISC delivering a package of support that will include ongoing training and monthly supervision sessions. (Supervision will be online using modern conferencing technology). I look forward to developing this working relationship further and being able to link in with some of the great things Recovery Connections do.

An intensive week of training at Lifeline was a successful and enjoyable challenge. It was a pleasure to run an intensive week of study on the WISC Integrated Step Course and spend some detailed time on understanding the 12 Steps. There were many interesting discussions and some good and healthy objections to some of the stuff being learnt and taught. Again this is a team that I could really enjoy working with full time. Rather than me harp on about the training here are some of the comments from those folks who attended. Thanks Lifeline.

“I have enjoyed 2 days of this session and have more understanding of how the WISC training sessions map into the 12 Steps. Love the evidence evident in trusting the process which incorporates so much".

Early October 2015 was spent training NECA staff (originally the North East Council on Alcoholism) in the application of the Get Into Recovery programme, The programme was rolled out in October with the opening of their new rehab centre based in South Shields. This centre is excellent and very well presented and will definitely be an asset to the community and to the great work NECA do.

The best part of the training was working with a team that are an absolute pleasure to know. I believe there is a balance of professionalism combined with a real caring attitude that will make it a winning team. I can't wait to receive feedback on how the project develops and the successes they achieve, for they surely will do a good job.

It was great to return to NECA in October 2016 to update training and see the progress they have made. Staff particlulary enjoyed the CBT and 12 Steps training.
