Treatment And Rehab Courses

At Get Into Recovery, we are involved in the development, production and delivery of a range of courses and training for recovery services.

  • Major public organisations, such as prisons, often struggle to meet internal policy requirements for the justification and management of self-help activities within their organisations. This often leads to a weak or even zero commitment to informal recovery activity such as AA meetings.

  • Our Integrated Step Courses bridge the gap between twelve-step philosophy and the need for structured course material and metrics, as well as the provision of training for staff involved in delivery of the courses.

Integrated Step Courses

These are our intensive, formally structured rehabilitation programmes with the following features:

  • Based on the practices and principles of twelve-step recovery.

  • Employ established evidence based teaching models.

  • Use recognised therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

  • Concisely structured for easy monitoring and verification.

  • Course manuals contain lesson plans, structured client work-packs, PowerPoint presentations, activity maps and group session plans.

  • Courses are supported by a full staff training programme and access to online downloadable training material.

  • Available in two versions – full time, taking up to six-months or a part time reduced intensity three-month course.

What is the Integrated Step Course?

This three or six month full time programme has been created for use in treatment or rehab settings, inpatient or out. Several models have been brought together to form a framework that can be delivered in group settings and 1 to 1’s.

Firstly the programme studies the practices and principles of the 12 Step model, this forms a major part of the course and is the backbone that the course is structured around.

Secondly, it includes tools such as node link mapping as seen in the BTEI and ITEP ‘Routes to Recovery’. It is important to stress that node link mapping, as used in ‘Routes to Recovery’ is not a new theoretical approach - it uses the same cognitive behavioural principles as motivational interviewing and relapse prevention. The course also includes psychosocial models considering such areas as ‘cycles of change’ and ‘thinking patterns’ etc this includes focus on after care and relapse prevention.

Thirdly all session are based around the processes of learning as defined by Blooms Taxonomy and William Glasser.

Each Step has six levels taking the client from an introduction to the Step through to initiating peer support.

“I have enjoyed 2 days of this session and have more understanding of how the Integrated Step Course training sessions map into the 12 Steps. It has been a pleasure to share the powerful strength within the room of recovery and see the hope and possibilities of how the programme can help those on a pathway to individual recovery. Love the evidence evident in trusting the process which incorporates so much"

In 2019 I was invited to Kentucky to work with the Wayside Christian Mission, an incredible organisation that helps the homeless and addicted to say the least. In return for all my Step Courses they shot some promotional films for me whilst visiting, here's a couple.
